Present tenses (Simple, Continuous, Perfect, Perfect Continuous). Exercises. Test for repeating tenses of the group Present Test simple and continuous present

As you know, the tenses of the Present group include 4 tenses of the verb (tenses):

  1. Present Simple Tense (level 2, intermediate) COMING SOON
  2. Present Continuous Tense (level 2, intermediate) COMING SOON

In this tutorial we will look at, How are the times of the Present group different? each other and how they work in the active voice.

Present Perfectpast tense of the verb.

So, to summarize:

Present Perfect answers the question What already did?—I have watched the cartoon.

Present Continuous answers the question What more do I? — I am watching the cartoon.

Present Perfect Continuous answers the question what am I doing during …? — I have been watching the cartoon for 20 minutes.

Present Simple answers the question What usually do I? — I watch cartoons every day.

Exercise 1. Match the tense of the verb and the tense expression (some are used twice):

Task 2 - Questions

Write questions for the highlighted words/phrases.

If the statement uses a short form, for example:

  • My name's Mary

also use the short form in the question

  • What's your name?

In other cases - the full form:

  • I am from Scotland - Where are are you from?

If the statement contains I, my, we, our, for example:

  • I"m from the US. My name"s John.

in the question we change them accordingly to you / your:
